With close to two decades of strategic advising experience, Lois most recently served as Senior Advisor to the President at Johns Hopkins University. Prior to that, she served as Chief of Staff to the Provost at the University of Pennsylvania and Assistant Dean of Students at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law.

At each of these institutions, Lois held operational, managerial, and leadership roles and worked or advised on governance issues, strategic priorities, financial and budgetary matters, legal and policy issues, and strategic and crisis communications. She has expertise in admissions, financial aid, student conduct, faculty issues, diversity issues, international initiatives, and community outreach in addition to extensive experience in designing, conducting or overseeing reviews, self studies and re-organizations of organizational units. She has worked closely with a range of stakeholders including deans, vice presidents, faculty, students, trustees, donors and alumni.

Lois started her career practicing corporate law at the Canadian firm Stikeman Elliott LLP while also engaging in pro bono work on women and law in China, trafficking in women and gender issues in the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. 

Lois received her BA and JD from the University of Toronto and her MA from Yale University.
